The UNO Card Game is a card game for 2 to 10 players. The object is to get rid of all the cards in your hand. The Uno deck consists of four sets of colored cards (yellow, blue, green, and red) numbered 0 to 9, plus a variety of special cards (wild, draw two, skip, wild draw four, and reverse).
Each player is dealt seven cards, and the remainder of the cards are placed in the center of the table, with the top one being turned over to form a discard pile. Players then take turns placing cards on the discard pile -- each card played must match the top card on the discard pile in either color or number. Being unable to play a card forces you to draw one from the draw pile.
UNO is popular because it is fast to play, the UNO card game rules are simple and easy for even children to grasp, and it has a heavy element of luck -- the special cards can be devastating when played at the right time, and wild swings of fortune are common.
