How to play the Mancala board game
Equipment: This solid wood set features a game board, three sets of rules, glass beads, and a storage box. For players ages 6+.
Game Instructions: Mancala is played on a rectangular board with 12 holes and 2 containers: 6 holes on each side and one big container, or "store", on the left and right sides. Play starts by putting three stones into each hole. The goal of the game is to capture all these stones. One player takes the stones from any hole, and, moving counter-clockwise, puts one stone into each hole and their own container if they reach it (your opponent's store is skipped). If the last piece they drop is on their own side or store, they get a free turn and go again. If it is on their opponent's side, they end their turn and their opponent starts. If you put a stone into an empty hole on your own side, you capture that stone and all the stones on the other side, and move them to your store. The game ends when all the holes on one side are empty; the player who still has stones left captures them. The player with the most stones captured wins.
