The Blokus Game

The Blokus Game can be played on a board or you can play Blokus online. There are four versions of Blokus and they are:

• Classic
• 3-D
• Trigon
• Duo

Blokus Classics is a puzzle game for 2 to 4 players. The objective of the game is straightforward. Using different shaped pieces, the objective is to "own the board" by having as many of your color on the board at a time. The catch? Each piece you place must only touch a piece of the same color at one corner. However, there is no limit as to how many ways they can touch other colors. At the beginning of the game, you are given 21 pieces consisting of anywhere from one to five blocks.

Although the game seems simple, the strategy involved is quite complicated. Playing aggressively is your best bet in this case. One of the basic strategies is to try to aggressively move your pieces towards the center of the board and use up your four and five-block pieces early because the later you get in the game, the harder it will be to use them.

The game is over when no one can make a move, at which point they count up the blocks on whatever pieces they placed, including the people who have laid down all of their pieces. A bonus of 15 points is awarded if the person uses all 21 pieces and an additional 5 if the last piece used was the 1-square block. The person with the highest score wins.
