The Apples to Apples Board Game
The Apples to Apples board game is a simple and fast-moving card game for 4-10 players. The game comes with two decks of cards, "green" apples and "red" apples.

Apples to Apples Party Box
Each is printed with a word or phrase and a cartoon that illustrates it; green cards have descriptions (such as "brave," "awkward," "humorous," or "scary"), while red cards have the names of things ("a dog," "my next-door neighbor," "the President," "newspapers," and so on).
To start the game, each player is dealt seven red cards. One player is picked to be the "judge," and he or she turns up the first green card and reads it aloud. Each player, except the judge, looks through his or her hand and selects the red card that best matches the green card, and plays it face down.
Once all red cards have been played, the judge picks them up, shuffles them, and reads them aloud. A great deal of the fun of the game comes from the humor of more unusual matches. The judge selects the red card that he or she thinks best matches the green card, and the player who offered that match is given the green card. The player on the judge's left becomes the judge for the next round.
The game continues until one player has won enough green cards, based on the number of players in the game. There are many variant versions of Apples to Apples available, including children's, foreign language, and special interest versions. The Party Box is a large edition containing over a thousand red and green cards.
